So this last week has been pretty AWESOME! Last Saturday we had a baptism that wrapped up a complete family baptized in the Church. We had baptized Joaldo and Angelica a while back, and this last week, their daughter Alice who finally warmed up to baptism. It was so cool for me, because Joaldo used to go out and drink with family and friends, left all alcohol behind, was baptized and then was ordained a priest and baptized Alice. YEAH!! I love it when this stuff happens!

This week we've got a solid baptism marked for a man named Nazarene, 58 years old, who's super-enthused to get involved in the church. He said he's already been involved in various churches, but really felt something completely different about ours. 12 years ago, missionaries had left a Book of Mormon with him, and when we found him knocking doors, was already ready to be baptized. YEAH!

So things are going good out here. Other than being involved in the work of the Lord, things are actually pretty normal. Well, normal...minus the Portuguese...and Brazil...and being the only white people here.

I've just had an issue lately with my hair, you know...not the baldness, but it's just that my hair is so fine, that gel doesn't work right with it, and leaving it without gel, people stare at my head like there's a dead, fine-haired balding cat on my head. Basically, it's just messy if I leave it be. My dilemma is that the only thing that works with my hair is hair spray. Agh. And EVERYONE knows that only women, and men that like to watch Oprah and drive Smart Cars use hair spray. So, as you might be able to see, there's NO way I'm going to walk into a store and buy hairspray, because there's NO way I want people thinking of me as an Oprah fan, or a Smart Car lover. I'm just gonna have to stick with this thin-haired and balding cat on my head.
